This traditional and incontrovertible competition already took place in the first edition of MANGA EXPO and will of course be present in the second one.

The participants will have the possibility to pantomime their favourite heroes, performing their show in group or individually.

With an original staging, accompanied with music and by the public’s applause will guarantee suspense and make of the public and of the actors the major elements of the Cosplay!

COSPLAY?? WHAT IS THIS?? !

The word Cosplay comes from the mix of Costume Playing. It describes an activity which consists in playing the role of a character, real or not, most of the times issued from manga cartoons or video games. But it can also refer to heroes of films, French or Belgian comics as well as music artists.
This activity consists in wearing the costume of a character and to perform a show by pantomiming him/her as good as possible. With costumes from high quality and crazy choreographies, these fans have the occasion to play the role of a famous hero.
These cosplayers are present during shows or festivals and even during parties, specially organized for Cosplay competitions!
Generally speaking, Cosplay is organized as part as a competition during which they are presenting to the public an amazing show!


COSPLAYERS!

This year, at the MANGA EXPO, the Cosplay will be organized by the association Bulle Japon. The registration form will be available on Bulle Japon’s website in early September. So…be on time because the 50 first registered candidates will be invited for free at the MANGA EXPO the day of the Cosplay show!

Like last year, cosplayers will parade on the stage as a fashion show. You will have the possibility to show your costume and to perform your show on a high stage with a “T” shape, a way to be closer to the public that will admire your show.But the great innovation will be that this spectacle will take place in an amphitheatre that contains 750 places! You will benefit from real loges enabling to prepare your show backstage…
