This is a versatile weapon, the use of which requires more practical skills than force. Nowadays, one's trains as part of a sport that beginns at any age. Practiced in Japan principally by women, the evolution of this martial art in Occident is distinguished by a good parity.
In parallell to this sportive martial art, there are also numerous old schools (the Koryu), the tradition of which is remained very lively.
